week fourteen.

This week was pretty dry if you ask me. The only thing of substance I did was take my CLEP exam. This was, I don't have to take 18 credits my last semester of Senior year. I took a 6 credit CLEP, so that took care of my 2 general electives for next semester. I have 12 credits left and I'm looking to fill 3 of them with an internship [shameless plug! if you know where I can get one for advertising/PR/graphic design/magazine layout design/or anything creative let me know!]. Once I started looking forward to next semester, I took a step back and realized that senioritis has been kicking my butt really bad this semester. All of my in-class classes are in order, however, my online class work is atrocious! I spent my Wednesday morning this week completing all of my online class work that I've missed since the storm [yes, since before Halloween. Sad, I know]. But at least it's all done now. CAN DECEMBER 15th GET HERE ANY QUICKER?!?!?!

week thirteen.

The week of Thanksgiving. The best time to be with family. Cooking, talking, watching football games, and for my family, dance battles on the Wii or Xbox. I drove for 4 hours, racing to get back to my family for these very reasons. But I ended up racing to work -__- [a responsible adult decision of mine, going to work instead of going to lay in leisure]. Now, on T-Gives Day, I was with my family, loving every minute of it. However, you know that magical day that comes right after T-Gives, the one with all the shopping and discounts? Black Friday of course! Here's the thing, Black Friday is the devil in the eyes of a retail worker. Mobs of unpleasant people ruining the store that you worked so hard to stock and decorate neatly. Then they have the nerve to take their unpleasantries out on you at the register because they made up some crazy deal in their head and you won't give it to them, you know because it doesn't exist. No one told you to get up 3 hours after you just stuffed your face with T-Gives food and get trampled at the mall. The worst part about Black Friday is that shoppers do it all over again the next day. On that Saturday, I pretty much saw most of the same Black Friday customers coming to return half of their purchases [buyer's remorse]. There were a few shoppers that were coming in because they wanted to escape the craziness of Black Friday but still want the same Black Friday ONLY deals -__- [people aren't smart]. week twelve.

You have got to understand, being from Maryland where we experience all of the seasons, I'm still tired of experiencing New York's seasons times 1000! That Nor'Easter that we got was no joke & I'm no fan of snow. Anyway, this week, I was inducted into the College of Professional Studies Honor Society. I must admit, I was pretty proud of myself. At least somebody recognizes the work that I do at this school. 

There was a nice quaint ceremony on the Queens Campus for all of the new inductees. All in all, I'd have to say that that is what made my twelfth week of senior year memorable.

Election 2012: Incumbent Takes the Title...AGAIN!

In the race to win the 270 electoral votes to be granted the title of President of the United States of America, the incumbent, President Barack H. Obama (D), has beaten out the challenger W. Mitt Romney (R). The President ended the race with 303 electoral votes, while Romney's total only reached 206. In the early hours of the race, Romney had been leading the president; that is, until the polls on the West Coast were closed. The President managed to secure the 55 electoral votes that came from California. This gave him a leg up. Once Obama gained Ohio's 18 electoral votes, he had the race won. He did manage to win Virginia's 13 electoral votes under a slim margin. Some would say the key to President Obama's victory was winning all but one of the swing states. Congrats Mr. President, here's to another four years!

week ten.

This was the week of Hurricane Sandy [which became SuperStorm Sandy, but was still referred to as Hurricane Sandy.. talk about confusing]. I came home for the weekend for my cousin's wedding & then I couldn't get back. If you want to experience superficial suffering of the first world, go somewhere for a week with only 2 PAIRS OF SHOES and a basket full of laundry that has not one single outfit that matches either pair. THAT was my tragedy for the week. I felt so helpless; but after I got over the initial shock, I got creative. I made outfits and managed to look decent as I went to shop for more clothes. Nobody could tell my hardships, lol. On Sunday, 10/29, I stood in a cold, rainy line with my mother for 3 and a half hours so that she could early vote. You see, I had already mailed in my absentee ballot, but being the good daughter that I am [insert sarcastic face here, ha] I stayed to keep her company. I also had the time, this week, to visit my old high school and brag about my college accomplishments to my old teachers. That felt good. My favorite activity for the week, I wrote in to the Ellen DeGeneres show to ask her to give me a new car. I know it's a long shot, but nothing beats a failure but a try.
But on a serious note, my heart went out to all those seriously affected by the storm. My mother, sister, and myself did give money to the organizations that were aiding in storm relief. The way we see it, we are a part of the community that is the United States; it is our duty to help those who need it.

week nine.

Sorry it's so late. I didn't mean to keep you waiting on my overly interesting life. Well, the wedding that I've been waiting a little over a year for finally came! My cousin Whitney married her High School sweetheart, Lewis (or Uncle Lew, as our family affectionately calls him). [Insert happy couple here] 

It was a beautiful affair, equipped with 5 Bridesmaids, 6 Groomsmen, 3 flower girls, 2 Junior Bridesmaids, and of course, the ring bearer. 

All the planning that we did and the stressing over menial details was well worth it and is actually over. a short ceremony, about 45 mins, pictures in front of the horse drawn buggy, and then off to the Mardi Gras themed reception we went. While waiting to be seated, me & my protege [some would just call her my younger cousin] took some bridesmaid boredom pictures.

When we finally got to go into the reception, we did so in the style of a Second Line Wedding Parade [shown here just for example] complete with a New Orleans jazz band. When the bouquet got tossed, I got suckered into catching it by my 7 year old cousin, but I must say I did have a great night.

Now, of course the wedding didn't go off without a couple of minor problems [my not liking the stupid coordinator being one of them] but hey, what's living life without a few obstacles.

week eight.

This week was another week of extraordinary nothingness. All I really did was do school work and sit around watching movies for inspiration since I have to write a movie for class. My movie is a romantic comedy. In my haze of nothingness, I did stumble upon the cutest little movie on youtube that I think I may somehow work into my screenplay.
